  why not bring back the old iPhone version. I have been without layar for months now because I upgraded (too early). At least give us the old version while waiting.

  Hi Yannick,

  We could have done that. We choose not to because of two reasons:
  1. The old version had similar problems around memory issues.
  2. Old version does not support features we are actively communicating in the market, like 3D. This will result in confusion.

  Do you have any ETA on the iPhone version? At this moment im starting my internship and a part of my assignment will include Layar. The original plan was using it on the iPhone but would it be a smart move to change that to an Android phone? By which I mean to ask: Will the Iphone app be back in let’s say a month or will it take longer?

  This upsets me greatly. I need to get this app now before I leave on a trip for all of February. I would absolutely rather have an old version or a buggy/slow version than nothing at all.

  I agree with some of the sentiment above – I have just created a test layar (yes it works spiffingly in the emulator) but fact of the matter is – I need to sell the WoW factor to my marketing and comms team to get $$ included in the budget and on an emulator, it just don’t do it justice !!!

  Is there anyway to get hold of the “old” version – even just for developing purposes ?

  While I appreciate your honesty and your dedication to ensuring that this app will function as intended for all users, I would also like to see some sort of a road map with regard to the re-development of Layar.

  Personally my uses for the app are purely entertainment based, but there are some who may have intended to use it for business or educational purposes. Despite what one intends to use the app for it would be nice if your audience could see a time frame for the re-release of the app so that, those that need to, could fit it around their schedules.

  Good work on layar. It’s realy great. I was wondering if you are going to meet your aim of re-submit layar for the iphone by the end of febuari (2010)?

  If so can you tel me when you expect it to be available in the app store?
